Pocket 4-ring Filofax Tejus update

I am still in my green pocket Tejus and loving it. The colour is amazing and it is so compact for the summer months. You can’t overstuff it and the leather texture is wonderful.

After my previous post, the lovely Klaudija alerted me to the fact that my Tejus was featured in one of Philofaxy catalogue uploads. I cannot thank Steve Morton of Philofaxy and Robert Mayr of Filowiki enough for their work in archiving the history and old model Filofaxes. The four-ring Tejus appeared in the 1993/1994 catalogue.

Then Kevin, another amazing reader, gave me more information in a comment

Your Tejus Pocket 4-ring is the second incarnation of the Pocket, introduced in 1992. This had a new pocket layout compared with the original P5, and rings increased from 11mm (7/16″) to 16mm. The date code on the inside of the strap should end in D (1992) or E (1993).

The 6-ring version was introduced in 1994, with no other changes (although the catalogue said it was a bit wider, my examples are the same size). The Tejus vanished from the catalogues in 1996.

There was also a Tejus Pocket Purse, introduced mid-1994, which had a zip pocket on the outside of the back. That was in the 1996 catalogue, but gone by 1998. Bouteia may have some in stock; I ordered one, but they sent a 6-ring Tejus instead, which I preferred…

Nifty, of Notebook Stories, recently wrote a five-part history of the early Filofax Pocket, and later Pocket Slim models: here

Thank you everyone for helping me identify the pedigree of this beauty. The four rings were a bit of a pain at first because most of my lovely accessories were designed for six rings, but I managed to furnish it with the basics and it works perfectly.
