The Hidden Girl by Lucinda Riley

I bought this book at OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg to read on the flights home. I had never heard of Lucinda Riley, but the sales associate told me about Riley’s best-selling series, The Seven Sisters. I did not get round to reading books during the flight and started it a few weeks later. I couldn’t get into it at first, so shelved it to be read later. I am not sure why, but it seemed an uphill battle. I choose books by looking at the first page. If the first page captures me, I buy it. This one started well but somehow lost my interest. I put it down in January and had no desire to continue.

I had no new books to read recently so picked it up again and quickly became hooked. I am about two-thirds of the way in and just cannot stop reading. The writing style is a bit unwieldy in parts, but the intertwining of the different stories and time periods worked really well.
