The Scalpologist haircare products

I had never tried this brand before, mainly because I had never heard of it, and partly because the packaging did not catch my eye in the sea of haircare products. I found this conditioner (and the matching shampoo) in the bargain bin so I decided I could try it. Failed shampoo is always repurposed for washing my delicates and makeup brushes, and I use failed conditioner as shaving cream. So it would not go to waste.

It is actually really good. I went back for more conditioner after, but shampoo lasts me ages so one bottle will do.

This year my Creightons Coconut and Monday Moist products have been in constant rotation. They are not pricey and work really well on my hair. My hair is not sensitive to conditioner, but I have to be careful to use shampoos that do not strip my hair because it is so dry. If shampoo dries my hair (squeaky hair is a dreaded sign) I have a whole lotta frizz to deal with for weeks.

  1. Another excellent post! I never really knew what to do with rejected shampoos and conditioners. I have used shampoo to clean hairbrushes and some clothes but I never really knew what to do with old conditioner. This is a brilliant idea!

Coconut Creightons shampoo is absolutely amazing… I have to learn new ways of dealing with my “new” hair. I used to have very greasy hair and now, the grey part is getting dryer and it’s harder to deal with. I have the feeling I may over shampoo. I tend to shampoo twice to really remove all the dirt but I do have plenty of frizzy hair. I use hair mask as a conditioner and it does help. But you’re only supposed to put conditioner on the ends of the hair, so my ends are silky smooth but the top looks like angora wool… I need to work on it!

    1. You can also use unwanted hair conditioner as fabric softener. Read more here.

I wash my hair twice a week, shampooing once if it foams okay and twice if the first shampoo did not foam. I tend to condition maybe four times a week.

      1. Thank you for the tip regarding the conditioner!

I will try shampooing only once. The Creightons shampoo is really very foamy. I also have a shampoo by Mielle, which is also very good and foamy. And I also wash my hair twice a week (or every three to four days). I use leave in conditioner after the shower, I sometimes use oil too (Mielle on the scalp to help hair growth and some light argan oil on the ends but now that my hair is a lot shorter, I don’t really need that much oil). I also use a hair elixir before going to bed… I wonder if I’m not overdoing it… I will definitely only shampoo once! Thank you!
