To remember, we learnt that cArs are stationAry not stationEry. Also, Ants like currAnts not currEnts.
Now that’s a mnemonic I can live with – and use. “E” for envelopes; I love it.
StationEry. As a child I memorized “E for envelope.” 🙂
Indeed – it is one of my pet hates and so many people make this mistake.
