When we had our recent Filofax meet up in Stockholm, I saw my first Filofax Kensington. I had never paid much attention to them until Susanna went from 0 to 6 in a short time as she loved them so much. That alerted me to the fact that this must be a great binder. And wow, it was.
Where can I start?
Very well designed for use as a wallet – a flap for notes, a zipped pocket for coins, lots of horizontal credit card slots.
Gorgeous soft leather – I don’t usually go crazy for soft leather but this is extraordinary. Soft and squishy and very huggable. At the same time it is not delicate or floppy and will wear well.
Light – when you carry a binder everywhere and use it intensively as a wallet AND organizer it is going to be solid. So the lighter the binder the better.
Cheap – these go for between €10 and €36 on eBay, shipping excluded. Shipping is usually about €12
I wrote about this gorgeous binder in my article about the meet up and lo and behold, a day or so later one of my readers offered me one for €40, shipping included. I said yes immediately and 48 hours later it was here – all the way from Germany!
I love it. It lays flat and wraps around the contents like a hug. The rings are tight as drums and from the older generation where they did not give trouble.
