I took this photograph at a flea market recently, where there were two brand new fluffy cat beds and this gorgeous cactus cat scratching tree. I said to the seller ‘is this a scratching post? It’s wonderful!’ and she replied that both her cats ignore all the lovely items she buys for them, and spend the next six months sleeping in the boxes in which said items arrived.

That’s cats, buy them a bed and they will always choose the cardboard box it arrived in.
