A lesson on how to make a perfect cup of tea by Janet Carr Posted on August 3, 2017July 14, 2017 Image Share this:TwitterFacebookLinkedInEmailTumblrPocketPrintRedditLike this:Like Loading...
I had to teach 11-13 year olds how to make a cup of tea when I was teaching IT, most of them had no idea!
I was teaching a lesson about sequencing and writing instructions so they are explicit. Something they need to know generally but specifcally for coding! The amount of people that would end up with water all over the floor or no water at all was funny!
Was brilliant when I got a jug of water one lesson and asked them to instruct me to pour it into the bowl I had sat on the table… I may have deliberately been a bit more awkward than usual but the resulting mess really helped them get what I was demonstrating! 😀
Instructions for brushing their teeth was also hilarious! xD
That is really clever!
I use things like this to teach my language students how to describe a process. It works very well!
