Ha! Ha! Quite funny. I have always been told by people of which English is their second language, that it is very difficult to learn. What throws me in trying to pick up and learn some Spanish, is that the Nouns are placed before the Adjectives.
I am so glad I have English as a mother tongue. I speak 6 languages and English is by far the most complicated. The worst is the pronunciation!
have you tried dutch yet? i think you will notice that english is pretty easy in comparisson with dutch 😉
I think I might argue, with some justification, that the second example is rather more egregious than the first… Mainly because it is a real one – the “ee” pronunciation versus the “e” – rather than an elucidative construction.
