I have been licked by loads of cats so I know how it feels and theoretically I know they have rough texture on their tongues to aid in grooming etc but this photo was the first time I had ever seen a cat tongue up that close. Isn’t it amazing?
It made me think of a story I heard in the Kruger National Park in South Africa once, about a ranger who had been chased up a tree by a lion, who then sat below him and licked right through the soles of his shoes. I thought it was an urban legend but maybe not!
