Scrub Gloves

I always use scrub gloves in the bath or shower and have done for the past 20 years or so. They wash and exfoliate at the same time and are not too rough or a faff to do like salt scrubs. These Soap & Glory ones are my absolute favourite.

I am finding it harder and harder to find the Soap & Glory ones, so I have been buying gloves from The Body Shop, and our local department store. They work well. I always look for gloves with hanging loops on them for drying purposes.

One thing I always have to remind myself is to change them every three or four weeks. They do exfoliate and clean me every day so I don’t want to use them for too long.

I could write dates on things with permanent markers but tend to remember them better if I do them on a certain day or date

  • every Sunday – change/wash bedlinen and towels
  • first of every month – new scrub gloves, refill medicine container
  • every three months – new toothbrush head and mascara (if it has not already become dry and clumpy)
  • once a year – wash sofa covers, curtains etc

I read an article by a makeup artist that said you should replace your mascara once a month. I don’t use much so as long as my eyes are fine and it works, I keep it for three months or so.

  1. I’m very fond of Soap and Glory products in general – a lot of them are nice and rich on the skin without feeling heavy. My treat every Christmas is waiting for their bargain seasonal release where you get loads of goodies for a knock-down price.

      1. It’s uniformly good across the board – they do skincare, make-up and shower and bath products. I’ve used a lot of them and found them good, although some of the perfumes are a bit weird. I find the shower gel almost too heavy a smell for summer – it feels more like a winter product, if that makes sense.
