Look what I found!

I love five-year lockable diaries. It all started when I was about 10. My parents saw how much I loved to write and gave me a diary in which to write my thoughts and dreams. It was pink because it was my favorite colour and had a little girl with a cat on the cover.

They often come up on the internet in their original packaging – like this beauty which was sold on Etsy recently:

They were not expensive or of the greatest quality, but, as with many things when one is young, they bring joy and memories that one cannot quantify by mere financial cost.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a diary which was EXACTLY like the one I had when I was young. What are the chances of that? It had been listed twice on eBay but had not sold. I wrote to the seller on the off-chance that they still had it, and they did!

The seller was not going to be relisting it but offered it to me for $5 plus postage from the US to Sweden. And said I could pay them when it arrived. How trusting is that? I can tell you I am chuffed!

Did any of my readers have these when they were young?

  1. No, but how I wish I had. What a gorgeous diary for a girl of any age. Congratulations on finding it 🙂
