The original article is here. As I mentioned, I found it extremely difficult to choose as each one is just as beautiful. I love the grain on the one on the left and the swirl on the one on the right. But a few minutes later my feelings swing in the other direction. If I had to choose I probably wouldn’t be able to.
So my readers preferred the one with the grainier leather and the simpler swirl.
As one of my readers mentioned: The leather changes depending upon which season it was made. One year they use grainier leather, the next smooth. It’s the same with their handbags, purses ect. The brightness of the colouring will also change from season to season. The swirl pattern will be different on every binder as it’s dependant on the cut of the leather. I used to work for Paul Smith and my husband still does!
