In Praise of Ray Blake

This post is dedicated to Ray Blake. Ray, together with Steve Morton, does inserts for Filofaxy users. As the selection of Filofax inserts has dwindled, Ray and Steve have, on Philofaxy, built  a huge library of printable inserts for every occasion and need – I am sure I don’t need to tell you the amount of work that went into those.

Not only that but Ray and Steve always, if they have time, help people with printing problems with these inserts.

Ray has his own site at My Life All in One Place. You can see towards the top of the page there are tabs leading you to different categories of inserts.

As if that were not enough, Ray also makes ‘Raydoris’, leather notebook covers in the style of Midori. He can emboss the covers if you so wish and he covers the cost of shipping himself. He has made three for me – one for myself and two as Christmas gifts. All embossed and all took less than a week from order to delivery. And needless to say they were all wonderful!

In addition, he prints out refills for Midori notebooks at a very low cost – once again he covers the cost of shipping which is spectacularly generous.

I print A5 booklets on my printer, no problem. But strange sizes it does not do that well – not without wasting lots of paper. And it is a black and white printer. And I battle to staple them. Sewing I tried when I did basic bookbinding. As a leftie – errr, no. So I ordered some refills for my Midoris from Ray less than a week ago.

I ordered undated landscape planpacks to cover 15 months, 2 lined notebooks and 2 grid notebooks.

They arrived today and I am thrilled.

This is a rather blurry photo of how the vertical layout looks, per week. Rhomany has a video on how she uses hers here. She and Ray created these wonderful plan packs between them. From what I understand Rhomany designed it and Ray set it up.
