Tasting and smelling in English

In English we never ‘feel’ a smell. Our fingers touch and our noses smell. So:

  • I could smell her perfume all the way out in the corridor
  • I have a cold so I cannot taste anything

 

PS our noses can also run and our feet can also smell.
