My choice for glasses and sunglasses has (ever since I could afford them) been Oakleys for my glasses and Raybans for my sunglasses. I have never been one to follow trends in eyewear and I use my frames for years and years so I like something solid and classic but with a slight edge. They need to be comfortable and hardy.
Some of the models I have are

I didn’t need to wear glasses until about two years ago but when my eyes started to go they went quickly and nowadays I can’t see at all without my glasses. I have astigmatism so I use varifocal lenses. About a month ago I went to have my eyes tested and fell in love with a Swedish brand of frames – Vasuma. The frame I chose was Vasuma Patchnose.

In Sweden when people are teased for wearing glasses they are called ‘glasögonorm’, which means ‘eyewear snake’ or ‘glasses snake’. So all the models are named after snakes. Their website is here. They have a showroom in the Old Town in Stockholm where you can buy them at less than one third of the retail price.

Wayfarers, me too! A design classic, never out of fashion.
I love my Wayfarers – the pair I have is from the 1980s!
