Christian Dior’s Book Tote (released 2018) was very popular for a long time, with H&M doing many copies of it. I did rather wonder at one time if this would be practical for teaching. I considered putting my books/papers/snacks/cardigan in a book tote like this and then carrying the lighter stuff in a small crossbody bag. The bag does not have a top zipper so it is not really practical in rain or the centre of town (pickpockets)
Then Covid and a frozen shoulder happened almost simultaneously in 2020, and life changed. I started teaching mostly online, and carried very little when I went into the field. I no longer had 8 – 12 hours away from home. More of my students started bringing laptops to class. I have to be careful of my back and shoulder.
I did see someone with this denim tote on the subway though, and I fell in love with it. It is part of a local department stores signature collection – NK Collection. You can have them embossed and they come in many different colourways.
The denim looks nice and it probably won’t transfer colour. I have used this travel wallet for years and it has been amazing.
