A day

These dog statues (ornaments?) were outside a shop. When I went inside, the owner was painting one. It takes 16 hours from start to finish!

I saw two old typewriters for sale today. I wonder if they are bought as ornaments or if people fix them up and use them? I learned to type on one of these and I used to hate changing the ribbons, and untangling the keys. You really had to hit the keys hard too. I wonder how many young people today know that the return key on a computer keyboard comes from the carriage return lever you had to hit to get to a new line?

A pretty door. The sign on the left (with the triangle) points indicates a bunker, where the public can shelter if something happens.

I rather liked this puzzle.

Even though they were first designated ‘art’ in 1964, these are still instantly recognisable as Andy Warhol’s work. Although Warhol did not design them himself; he appropriated them from James Harvey, who had designed the actual Brillo Box in 1961. I guess Warhol did more or less the same with the Campbell’s soup can.

I wasn’t sure what these were. Maybe something approaching a gorilla or a sloth?

I know that feeling

At the moment, it does not seem like it will. Every day we seem closer to WW III

There is a book about everything. Sadly, this one did not seem to sell well…
