- Clare Mackintosh, Other People’s Houses – I love this author and her books always keep me guessing to the end
- Michael Connelly, Nightshade – this was not a Haller, Bosch or Ballard novel but still a solid Connelly whodunnit
- Johan Theorin’s Öland quartet + The Asylum – I really like this author. His settings remind me a lot of Peter May’s Outer Hebrides books.
- Peter May, The Black Loch – the fourth (!) book in the Lewis Trilogy. A good solid crime novel with the main character being the brooding atmospheric Outer Hebrides
- Mother-Daughter Murder Night, Nina Simon – I have written about this before, so I will just say that the ensemble of characters is amazing
- Dead Last, Tony Parsons – a readable enough thriller, but I would not run out to buy all his other books.
Michael Connelly, The Proving Ground – I don’t normally like the posturing hustle of the Mickey Haller aka Lincoln Lawyer (unless he is counterbalanced by Bosch), but this book was amazing. It deals with current events, particularly AI, and the accompanying ethical and legal minefields. I can highly recommend!
