For the first time in about twenty years, I bought a pair of corduroy trousers. They are quite thick corduroy (called manchesterin Swedish) and the wale is between pinwale and widewale. Wales are the width of the ridges on corduroy. The colour of these trousers is a rich brown.
I go through stages of wearing brown, because it goes so nicely with purple, pink and turquoise, and is a softer neutral than black. This is a style I have been wearing in grey canvas recently. It feels good to wear wider trousers after wearing narrow, cigarette-leg styles for years.
My last corduroys were a pinwale pair in dark brown and a matching pair in burgundy, boot cut. I liked that they were warm and cosy and could be worn both professionally and privately.
