Some of the points above refer to our new digital society. For me the most egregious social disrespect today involves people thinking public spaces are their own private spaces. Some people turn public transport, coffee shops or waiting rooms into loud private interactions where I am forced to be a spectator.
- long loud mobile conversations with the phone on speaker mode
- watching videos or playing video games without headphones
- having loud online meetings in coffee shops
- doing online things during a movie in a movie theatre.
Some other life rules I could add
-
- Never shake a hand while sitting
- Never talk badly about the food when you are the guest
- Don’t eat the last piece of something you didn’t buy, unless encouraged to by the person who brought it
- Don’t take credit for the work you didn’t do.
- Ask more than you answer
- Listen more than you speak
- If you’re not invited, don’t ask to go
- Don’t beg for a relationship. You deserve more than someone who cannot decide if they want you or not.
