24 Days of Clinique Advent Calendar

Clinique and Dermalogica are two brands that have simple no-muss, no-fuss products. I use the Clinique 3-step product line in summer when my skin becomes more greasy and cannot cope with my beloved Astalift. I like Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +, Clarifying Lotion, and 7-Day Scrub Cream. Makeup-wise I really like their blusher, chubby stick lip and eye products, and their lipsticks (Bamboo Pink and Black Cherry are my all-time favourites)

Another thing I really like about Clinique is that their GWPs (gifts with purchase) or Bonus Time offers always contain really good products. So many big beauty houses seem to have horrible colours or past-season products in their GWPs. Or else they have very few or very small items. Clinique, however, always has nice products in their gift packs. Their lipsticks and eye shadow gifts are great colours, and available to buy.   I have gone on to buy and use many of the things that I have discovered in their bonus bags. All the lipsticks and blusher I use originally came in Cliniques bonus bags.

So this year, when a local department store had the (already incredibly priceworthy) Clinique advent calendar for 50% off and I discovered that I had two bonus vouchers, I went and bought two of them. The total value was said to be €224, the original price was €85, and I paid €32 each.

I am really chuffed because the products are things I use, and are very generously sized. There is also a nice mix of makeup and skincare. This calender included the 3-step programme plus many items from the brilliant Moisture Surge range.

I am not into beauty advent calendars for the surprise factor, or to open a window every day. I have found that if you check the contents beforehand, you can find products you actually like and use for much cheaper than if you buy them individually. If I use and like at least 75% of a calender’s contents, then it is great value. And in the run-up to Christmas, there are often discounts offered on these calendars, in addition to the original saving.
