Arthur was finally released from quarantine in Vallentuna, Stockholm very early on Friday the 20th March. By 7am he was at Bagarmossen animal hospital where he then had an operation on his teeth which were in pretty bad shape. After that, despite being groggy from the anaesthetic he met the press and then he went for a walk with his new family and spent the night in a hotel. They had been advised against air travel after he had so recently been operated on. Having flown myself just after dental surgery I can say – don’t do it!

Yesterday, Sunday 22nd, he finally flew with his family to his forever home. What a wonderful ending. I have heard (though I did not hear it himself) that the vet could tell from his teeth that he is only three years old and not seven as had previously been assumed because of his general condition. What a life he must have led.
