Three lacemakers working. Brittany, France. 1920.

Look at that incredible work!

My two grandmothers both did tatting. I wish they had taught me but in those days I was forced to do things with my right hand (I am left-handed) so I would probably have been awful. I have heard that it is pretty hard to learn from YouTube videos so I will remain always just an ardent admirer.

  1. Hi! Not so sure… my Father is left handed also and was forced to use his right. He became a smith and could put the horseshoe up on all side of the horses easily, the other pupils always sent him in the row when the “hard side” came next😃. He is kind of a Mcguyver…you give him a needle plus a tape and he puts together a helicopter…🥰
