The Belmont has long been one of my favorite Filofax binders. I think they were one of the best, if not the best binders Filofax ever made. The leather is stupendous. These binders do not have stiffening, and are made of the most beautiful smooth, thick, flexible saddle-type leather with distinctive, classy stitching. They wear extremely well – I used a personal for several years and you could not tell it had been used, apart from slight darkening of the stitching on the clasp. Belmonts came in tan and black, but the black versions are extremely hard to find.
Over the years I have ended up with 2 A5s, 2 personals, and 1 pocket, all in tan. I bought my first one on a seasonal sale, and the rest online over a number of years. I will probably sell my duplicates, but I will always keep a set of these in all three sizes.
