10 years old today!

It seems like so long ago that I began this blog, my second. My first one was on Typepad and I didn’t update very often. I used it more to see what this new form of media was like.

I started This Bug’s Life during the glory days, when the blogosphere was where all the influencers hung out, where the money was to be made. I never wanted to make money, just to share my passions (stationery, cats, Boerboels, beauty products, the English language) with likeminded souls out there in cyberspace.

Slowly it became a habit and I gained regular readers and commenters. I still post daily, even though most of the social media action these days takes place on Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram. I prefer to read rather than watch, so written media has always appealed to me more than the visual.

Thank you to all my regular readers, and also those who happen to stumble upon me after a Google search. You inspire me to continue with this, each and every day!
