I am not really a bird or butterfly person but now and then I am stuck with the striking colour and plumage of their species. I have read that birds can recognise colours and patterns, making it easier for them to identify other birds. The colourful birds are generally the males of the species. Darwin concluded that color differences between sexes in birds (also known as sexual dichromatism) results largely from female preference for bright colors in males

I’ve been a fan of birds and insects (I also have a passion for cats but thats a different story) for many years and I can travel to a foreign country only to see the birds I want to see. I have been to Mexico and Bolivia (from Paris, France) twice to see special species of birds that migrate there a few months every year.
Once you enter the world of birds it is fascinating to see how organised, intelligent and beautiful these little animals can be.
