Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

I have written about Mario Badescu before – here, and here.

My favourite product of theirs is the Drying Lotion. If I have a spot brewing – especially one of those deep throbbing ones – I dab this on the spot at night and by morning it’s gone. I don’t know how they manage it but boy it works like a charm.

I have been lucky to have pretty clear skin all my life, but I have had hormonal spots and big cystic spots over the years and this has worked amazingly. I had one a few days ago and I was so glad I had this nearby because it felt like Krakatoa.

I have tried both the Buffering Lotion, and the Drying Lotion, but I think the Buffering Lotion is for people with more severe breakouts than I have. I generally just have one spot at a time and the Drying Lotion is easy to use. You dip a cotton bud into the sediment at the bottom of the bottle (do not shake) and apply it on the spot. It reminds me of Calamine Lotion with a thousand times more oomph!

  1. I have never used that lotion but if I get a spot I use La Pâte Grise from Payot which works exactly the same way. I use a cotton bud to apply it on the blemish before going to bed and then on the next day it’s gone. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard about that cream which has been a cult here for decades. It works like a charm and though I’ve been blessed with clear skin I always have it just in case.
