What you buy vs what you get

Have you ever read those articles about people who buy things online, and they were not what they expected? The main culprit seems to be Wish and AliExpress but eBay and Amazon have their bloopers too. I think most times the thing was so cheap (you really do get what you pay for) that people keep them rather than trying to return.

Well, we were the victim of this ourselves when we received the cheapo cat lamp I wrote about yesterday.

This is what inspired us…

This was life-size and about €250

and this is what we received…

It is rather cute though!

  1. Whoa! What you had ordered on Wish’s website is definitely not what you received. I doublechecked the pictures you posted yesterday and see a cute TUXEDO cat – that’s why I said in that posting that you were better off with the cuter cat at a lower price. BUT! Now that I see what you actually received, I went “what the heck!”. The cat figure is still kinda cute but it reminds me of a collie somewhat because of how it’s colored, especially around the neckline.

    1. My husband thinks it’s kinda cute. We fell about laughing when we saw the size of the box and I made him open it because I thought it really would be hideous!

  2. I am so sorry that has happened to you. I thought they were quite cute cats from your pictures yesterday. The one you have received seems smaller (or is it the bulb that is bigger?) and the white patches don’t seem very realistic. I’d return it and ask for a refund. I am sure you’ll easily be able to find nicer cat lamps somewhere else! It is absolutely unacceptable that some inline shops dare fool the customers that way. It is so disappointing and a total lack of respect.

    1. Thanks Natalie. When you order from Wish you really get what you pay for. I try to avoid obvious fakes, and make sure the price is low enough that I won’t grieve when I don’t get what I expected, but this really was not what was advertised! I guess I learned my lesson!

      1. Can’t you send it back? I am sorry I have never bought on Wish, Aliexpress or that sort of online shops. I don’t know what their policy is but I’m sure you could get your money back. I hope you’ll be able to sort that situation out as you can’t just accept being fooled that way!
