Happy birthday!

It was my birthday yesterday and I had a really good one. I know many people don’t like a fuss on their birthday but I have always really enjoying making it a special day. Even when I have had no one witch which to celebrate, I have always taken the day off work and spoiled myself. Yesterday did not disappoint!

I was woken up with tea and breakfast in bed, after which we went to drop off our older Harley Davidson Street Glide (2016). To be honest, it was hard to say goodbye. We had been for a long long farewell ride on her the day before though.

We then took her for the first ever spin, and put 80km on the clock! She is a dream ride. The seats are epic.

 

After that we went to the famous Stockholm ‘Thai Boat’, a boat/deck/beach restaurant that also has two speed boats and a Tuk Tuk, plus chefs flown in from Thailand. It happens to be 1 minute’s walk from our home and we had never been there before. It is huge, with many different levels and options.

Then we came home and I gave a thought to my dad, who died when I was a teenager. He and I shared a birthday and he always used to tell me I was his best ever birthday present. I miss him every birthday, even though I have spent more of my life without a father than with one.

In my family, my father and I shared a birthday, my mother and her brother shared a birthday, my maternal granny and her one son shared a birthday, my paternal grandmother and a cousin shared a birthday, and my cousin and his son share a birthday. That must be very unusual!
