For the past two weeks, both my husband and I have been working at home, via Teams, Skype and Zoom. I have loved ‘meeting’ my students’ pets and connecting with my clients in a different environment. Most people are more relaxed in their homes and we have been able to share our feelings about having our work invade our private spaces. My husband and I work in different parts of the apartment but one day last week one of my students spotted him wandering around in the background in his pyjamas. We had a good giggle and a couple of them shared some embarrassing work-from-home stories, including their cat giving birth on the dining room carpet during a meeting.

I’m relieved to read that you’re working from home now. Because when you said on the 28th March that you were still going to work to your usual place I found it a bit irresponsible to make you go out in the current situation. It was only ten days ago and so many things can happen in such a short period of time. I guess you’re much safer working from home. I’ve been working from home for a bit more than three weeks and I somehow got used to it. I can’t see myself going back to work for many other weeks so I make the best of that situation.
