Never forget that time passes so quickly you don’t even notice it until it begins to show. And while your outer shell may wrinkle, you stay young inside. You want to be part of things. Not invisible, laughed at, or ignored because you have been on earth a little longer.
So many cultures celebrate elders for their wisdom and value. I wonder why ours doesn’t?

Obsession with the new and faddish, disrespect for others generally, and a gradually adoption of American fear of and denial of a all contribute, or it may just be a result of the dumbing down and general lack of intelligent debate amongst the political elite and their frequent blaming of the generation of people born in the late 1940s and 50s for all the ills of society. The latter is particularly true in the U.K.
