Mannequins

Shop mannequins seem to run the gamut these days.

Some of them are unrealistically thin, despite frequent public uproar about it:

I am 5 foot 7 inches (1.7m) and weigh about 118lbs. I am probably a teeny bit taller and lighter than the average woman, but I am still pretty average. Here I am standing next to an H & M mannequin. The mannequin is on its toes but it is very pretty tall and thin. I can understand making the mannequins taller and bigger to be able to be seen across the shop, but surely not taller AND smaller? How long are the legs on those jeans? How would they look on someone with hips and shorter legs? Why not have a mannequin the same height but bigger all over – for example with bigger hips?
