Beautiful handbound notebooks from a trade

As I have mentioned before, I am downsizing this year – one in one out has been my motto, so I have done a number of trades recently. This one was amazing – it was a Nanami Seven Seas Writer trade for two leather notebooks from Susie D.

Both of them are lovely – the red one has cream lined paper and the brown one (beautifully double-boxed) has handmade textured blank paper. The embossing on the leather cover is mirrored by the patterns on the box.

The only thing will be finding something nice enough to write in these. I am a great proponent of not saving anything for best, but with notebooks I tend to keep the nicest ones unused. Not sure why.
