Petra sent these three covers to me to review.
There was a question in the Van Der Spek Facebook group a few weeks ago about faux leather options, and whether there were any.
Van Der Spek did make a few faux leather binders a few years ago but they found that they did not last well. Ultimately, genuine leather is more durable and easier to work with.
There are people who do not like to use leather and for these there are not that many options in the Van Der Spek line. I did, however, remember these binders from when Steve and I visited Van Der Spek in 2014. I really liked them!
Petra does stress that these are budget option and can not be expected to last like the leather ones too. This is also reflected in the price (€20 – €28).
I really like them, and as can be seen in my photographs, they are very well made – not a crooked stitch or loose thread anyway.
There are two in Junior (pocket) size and one in Standard (personal) size. My favourite is the standard size one as it is soft and squashy.
At some point I will move into the Standard sized one for a few months and see how the faux leather wears.
