Ziggy has to wear his Elizabethan collar (aka The Cone of Shame) 24/7 until his infected incision heals. I cannot take it off even for him to eat because I then battle to get it back on again. He sees me coming and heads for the hills.
He is uncomfortable in the cone and in pain. He has to have antibiotic paste morning and night, painkillers and anti-inflammatories during the day, and wound cleansing once a day. Despite that, he is a friendly little chap. The staff at the vet love him – mainly I think because he is so tiny!
He cannot wash properly due to his headgear, so twice a day Fluffy washes him thoroughly from head to toe. Ziggy absolutely loves it. Isn’t that sweet?
