Speckled Fawns covers in Teal Horween leather

I now have four traveller’s notebook covers in Teal Horween from SpeckledFawns on Etsy.

Terri had an absolutely fantastic 30% discount on this leather a few months ago as she bought the last of it. I have always loved teal and I liked that the interior was also teal.

I have a B6 and an Extra Wide with 2″ stitched spines and 8 elastics and without pockets. And a B6 and an Extra Wide with 2″ stitched spines and 8 elastics and with pockets.

Inside them I have teal insert booklets from YellowPaperHouse on Etsy. 99% of my inserts come from here. The paper is lovely, they offer a huge range of colours from neons to pastels to seasonal and the service is wonderful.

A reinforced square flat spine means that if you have a great number of booklets, they sit flush against the spine instead of curving outwards.

This leather is the most gorgeous deep glowing teal. It does mark easily but this does not detract from its beauty. You can choose from a wide range of stitching and elastic but I generally go with the most neutral colours I can find, so that I can change to any colour elastic at a later stage.

I love covers with pockets both inside and out. It makes a huge difference and once I used a cover with pockets, I found it difficult to go back to without after that. The external pockets are amazing because you can pop things in on the fly, or keep your phone or other tech device in them.

I like stitched covers with reinforced square spines that can take 8 – 14 booklets, and these fit the bill perfectly. I also like internal pockets in my covers. If you don’t want as many elastics or a stitched spine, you can just choose these options when you buy your cover. There are several different kinds of leathers available and also different styles. Terri’s workmanship is always impeccable.

I have not changed the elastics on these covers because the rich brown of the elastic perfectly complements the deep teal of the leather. But this cover would look great with most colours if you choose to ring the changes with a different colour of elastic.
