David Bowie in Russia

In April 1973, after finishing the Japan leg of his Ziggy Stardust tour, David Bowie returned to Europe by land. He was known to have a fear of flying but he overcame this later on in life. Having come part of the way from Japan by ship, he took the Trans-Siberian railway from Vladivostok to Moscow.

He travelled from Switzerland via Russia to Finland in April 1976. He took with him Iggy Pop, and photographer Andrew Kent, who took these photographs.
