Teacher’s ruler brooch with charms

Well, I bought it! I will be using it, not for repurposing the charms, but for its intended purpose – as a brooch. It will start out on my coat while it is still cold outside and then move to my textile jackets for spring.

And the most amazing thing is that it made it all the way from the USA to Sweden in 3 days! Can you believe it?

  1. Very cute brooch……

    However, since it’s made of celluloid from the 1930’s, I’d be very cautious about exposing it to very cold or very hot weather.

    Also, moving it from very warm to very cold exposure quickly.

    Think the material could start to crack or deterioriate.

    I say this from having used and learned about old vintage celluloid fountain pens.

    Just my 2¢……

    1. And old light switches tended to do this as well, though that was Bakelite! I love this and it is in good nick so maybe I will find a novel way to display it.

      1. Old Bakelite tends to get very brittle with age…..but love the look of some of the old vintage Bakelite things…..

        Think finding a way to display the brooch is a great idea…..
