The fact that I have been a huge David Bowie fans since 1972 is well known. So I was very sad when he died. He had been a part of my life since I was 11!
There are other Bowie fans in the community and the lovely Nicole showed a beautiful Bowie binder she was making. When I admired her dashboards she offered to make me some as she knew I was a huge fan.
She let me choose my favourite images and lyrics and put them on laminated dashboards for me, for my personal sized Van Der Spek organiser. As readers know, I do not decorate but use a colourful dashboard to personalise my binder.
Then, a huge surprise! She had made laminated dashboards in A6 size with all Bowie’s album covers on them. The cover photo and the date of the album is on each one. She discovered that they did not quite fit so asked if I would like them. Would I ever?
They are fantastic – for bookmarks, a collage and as the cards for the language game I use in my classroom (it’s Trivial Pursuit but for language learning!)
I cannot thank you enough Nicole – I had a bad week last week (scheduling problems, sick cat, credit card stolen and a stinking cold) but things looked up pretty quickly!
