Thanks for that Clare! I have just looked it up and now know more about ha has than I ever thought possible! It is a walled ditch or sunken obstacle such as a hedge. Also called a haw haw. You made my dayt!
Funny, but I think a ha – ha is a ditch. They used to have them in stately homes to keep deer from wandering in from the parkland. However, the joke works just the same. Thanks for a cheery start to the day.
