Vintage five-year Leathersmith diary

This is the last of the three vintage five-year diaries I bought a few weeks ago. This one was for sale on Etsy for the enormous sum of $7. With postage I think it came to $9. Looking at it, it is probably from the 1950s.

It is really nice – the paper is super thin but absorbent (Leathersmith is very much like Smythson but without the eye watering price tag) and the leather on the cover has the texture of stingray. I am sure it isn’t but it is very very tough leather which means this would last five years without showing much wear at all.

And this time my cat helped me by holding down the pages as the diary is brand new so does not yet lie flat.
