It is now month 7 of my undyed binder. I undertook to use it for 6 months but find myself unable to move out of it. Which is odd because normally I switch every two weeks or so, just as I do with handbags. I use organisers and handbags day in and day out, all day every day – so if I didn’t change I would soon get bored.
This one however is different. It is perfect for my needs and I am very very fond of it. The wear process has made it unique, mine. My life is imprinted on it. Every scratch and mark has a memory attached.
The leather is now darkening to a light caramel colour. I have noticed that the patination and darkening is speeding up now. Probably because it is summer and there is a lot more light around. The leather is softer now and moulding to the contents, as you can see from the photo I took from the top. Inside is lighter but not much, probably because I use it as a wallet as well and it is constantly being touched.
The corners are not showing that much wear. I would say the strap is the part that has marked and aged the most. Probaby because that is the part I touch more than any other.
I admit that I did not like this leather much when you first blogged about it, but it is becoming so lovely now!
Getting lovelier and lovelier! I can’t see you moving out of it before it gets brown.
Please don’t stop showing us pics of this lovely planner.
