Chemotherapy Barbie

These Mattel ‘Ella’ Barbies are not sold in stores but are made available to certain hospitals to help children who are undergoing chemotherapy. The doll does not have hair but comes with wigs.

The supply has been very limited but after a petition was created in 2014 calling for more of them, Mattel committed to increasing their production to match demand. Calls have also been made for a GI Joe with cancer for little boys.

I think it is a wonderful initiative – find the Facebook page here. The photos of these brave young ladies came mostly from the Facebook page and I want to give them all a shout out and send healing vibes across the miles.
