Filofax Exotic binders

These, now discontinued (why oh why?) binders from Filofax are, in my opinion, the only high priced binders which are worth the money. Why?

  • The exotic leathes used are top quality
  • The leather is farmed not hunted
  • The leathers wear like iron
  • The rings are replaceable
  • There are ring protectors
  • The interior is the best designed of all the Filofaxes I have ever had

I have three:

  1. Janet besides being a Filofax collector extraordinaire, where do you store all of them. And which ones do you use on a regular basis? You turned me on to the Kensington (which I LOVE) I now have two and switch them out. I guess I just answered my own question, but I am afraid of starting to collect too many. 🙂
I love how open and honest you are with all of us. I was sorry to hear that you were ill. I hope you are feeling better. Thanks again for bringing fun items to light.

    1. I have the ones I use most often on a shelf where I can reach them easily, the rarities are in their boxes, as are the ones that I use more seldom. I tend to rotate every couple of weeks – Filofax Kensington and Ostrich, Gillio Mia Cara and Van Der Spek Touch Me (all personal size) are my favourites in personal size. And in A5 I love Gillio Mia Cara, Van Der Spek Touch Me and my 21 year old Van Der Spek the most.

  2. You have the best collection ever. I think the first time I saw the Buttercup Ostrich was on your blog. I just fell in love. Unfortunately, I missed the boat on that one and I can’t find one out there. But, I see that VDS does binders in Ostrich leather. I am happily waiting for my bonus to splurge on a custom binder with Ostrich leather. 🙂

  3. These are lovely as well. I wonder, though, if they are sniffable as the cowhide et al leathers are sniffable. This may be the most odd comment you receive on this blog entry, Janet. 🙂 Thank you for all that you share.
