Filowiki and three generations of Filofaxes in Ostrich

Did you know that there is a Filofax Wiki? Robert Mayr is cataloguing all the models of Filofaxes in as much detail as possible. Many of us in the community are contributing photographs and information. Even if you are not on Facebook, you can contact Robert at the email address given in the link above if you have any comments or contributions. It is an invaluable resource!

So the next pictures are actually for the Wiki but thought I would put them here in case any of my readers are interested.

First comes an Ostrich Winchester (photos used with permission from an eBay auction)

Second comes a recently-discontinued Buttercup Ostrich Filofax (the new exotics didn’t have model names) from 2012/2013

Third one is a Black Ostrich Filofax from 1995. It looks very similar to the Filofax above but the one above has slip pockets at each end of the binder (arrowed) which is an amazing design development.

The black ostrich above has the same gold rings and pocket layout as my red Lizard Filofax, also from 1995

  1. Hi Janet, I have just posted my FF Personal Ostrich “Exclusively for Bloomingdales” in the FB Kate Spade Planners Club page and am trying to find information on it. I searched the wonderful Wiki link but, it is close but not exactly like these listed…there is no zipper and no side pockets just the two pockets with flaps near the rings…Have you ever seen one of these? Would love some info on her…Thanks! Diana

    1. I haven’t actually, but I have seen one made exclusively for Harrods which was more similar to yours. Filofax also used to make binders exclusively for Browns. If you look at my other posts you will see I have a Henley made exclusively for Bloomingdales. I think all of these were made for them as I have never seen one without ‘Bloomingdales’ on it.
