If I do use pens, I tend to use Frixion, Muji 0.38 Gel Pens, Pilot V-pens or Gelly Rolls.
I do have some ‘proper’ pens though and these I have had for many years. Of them I have used the Montblanc Meisterstück and the blue and gold Waterman Carene ballpoint pen the most. Given my problem with pens and pencils it is surprising that I have never lost them.
Ink-wise I use Montblanc and Pilot Iroshizuku the most. I tend towards blue-black and blue-grey colours.

Oh so pretty. I love collecting pens too, cheap or expensive. The burgundy Mont Blanc is to die for.
It is my favourite pen of all time. My ex husband bought it really cheap at Shannon Airport in Dublin and gave it to me about 15 years ago. It is a real ‘lifetime’ pen. It seems to make whatever you write with it special and precious!
My husband is the same as you concerning pens – Mont Blanc, Waterman. Etc. He gave me a lovely one. I forget the name, but it is a French company, Lepine maybe. It is wood with an engraved marking and lovely. I don’t take it out of the house. I will check the name.
One of my passions is to collect pens! I have really nice Mont Blanc, Waterman, Cross, Shaeffer, Parker, Dupont pens and fountain pens. As a uni teacher and lecturer I have forgotten many in classrooms but luckily l have found most of them back. I am also a translator and l need to use lots of pencils. My favoutites are the Mont Blanc and Cross ones as l can easily buy refills wherever l am in the world.
Each of my binder has a dedicated fountain pen and l love using them with different inks though my favourit are dark blue or purple.
Regarding your problem with pens, I have found that the best way of not losing pens is to have nice pens that you don’t want to lose! That way you tend to look after them better… Which could explain your success in hanging on to these!
You could be right. I always lose cheap sunglasses but never my expensive ones!
