I have been advised that you have had a problem with the Mini Cross organiser you purchased through eBay. I am sorry to hear that the coating has started to peel.
The mini Cross in orange has now been discontinued and we do not have any more stock. I would therefore like to send you a replacement organiser to the value of £63.00.

Isn’t that amazing service from Filofax UK. Who read the post and contacted me. A refund for a binder bought on eBay. My day has been made and I guess Josh’s has been too!
I have bought an unused Cross Mini from Gumtree received today. It’s as described but I don’t know how it’s been stored. I have a similar problem in that the outer coating is cracking and will definitely peel. I shall carry on using it as it was only £15 and you pays your money and takes your chance. Can I prevent further peeling and cracking just by using a leather care product, after all it’s got to be opened and closed and bent back to be able to write in.
I emailed them about a problem I had with a filofax and never even got a reply. Luck of the draw I suppose.

Sadly, I’ve also suffered with the cracking/bubbling issue with both a Cross & a Classic. I asked them if this was a known issue, but didn’t receive an answer. Filofax offered me a replacement for my Classic (I requested a Malden instead, hooray), but at the time said that they couldn’t help with the Cross as it was discontinued & purchased on eBay. They have also more recently replaced another binder for me & have obviously changed their policy as they didn’t seem at all interested in where it came from.

As a fellow Filofax addict; bag addict; animal lover; knowing that someone out there shares the same passions as me and actually takes the time to write about them means the world to me and many others so thank you. Secondly; i would like to ask you if you know about the Filofax osterley’s being discontinued ? I am in search of a brown personal and so far i have had no luck. The ones i have found are over priced by $200 dollars or more. Thank you for reading my email and i look forward to hearing back from you when your time permits.
Oh thank you so much – that means the world to me too. I think the reason I have kept it up so long is that I write about what I love. It is so humbling to know that people read what I write. I am still stunned that anyone else would want to!
I have not heard anything about the Osterleys being discontinued – some of the colours are harder to find than the others. I wanted an orange A5 but they were hard to find in Sweden. They had plenty of grey and the burgundy colour though.
I am sure my local stockist had brown personals last week. If you like I can check that out. If the price is not too high for you I can always get one for you and post it to you. All you need is Paypal!

A disclaimer; I did not write the post to humiliate filofax… I’ve never had any quality issue with any of my other binders. I did not seek assistance from filofax as I felt that their liability on an ebay purchase was very limited.
