Cutting and Trimming Filofax Inserts and Dividers

I customise my Filofax contents quite a bit and above is what I use to do it. It is a Fiskars Portable SureCut™ Paper Trimmer 22 cm -A5. I cannot do without it – I use it at least twice a day for trimming all kinds of paper. This is another thing I think Filofax should add to its offerings – a nice light inexpensive paper cutter with the Filofax logo on it. Rather that than another hideous high end designer collaboration.

It is light and the cutting bits are well protected so you can’t hurt yourself while using it. It has holes to fit in a file and it is light and portable. If you blunt the blade through use you can replace it. It is cheap and works like a dream. It has markings for A5, A6 and A7 but the squares mean that you can cut your paper to any size you want. It can’t do huge wodges of papers but can definitely do about five at a time. I paid about £10 for mine.

Fiskars is a Finnish brand but their products are available from hobby and scrapbooking sites and from Fiskars themselves. Also on eBay and Amazon.

  1. I have one of these too! Plus I have a heavier duty one I got from Aldi this year that has both guillotine (falling blade) and slicer (like yours) options, the latter has a straight line, a perforated line, and a wavy line option. The heavier duty is great if I do want to cut more paper at once, but the guillotine option does mean you need to be careful with it 😉

  2. I bought my Fiskars paper trimmer in town and it’s amazing. The only bummer is that no one in town stocks spare blades so I have to order from Amazon.

  3. Thanks for sharing. I’ve been looking into buying a paper cutter for awhile now but am not familiar with the brands out there. I will have to try this one.

  4. Thank you so much for this tip. Two days ago I found your information on losing weight with a filofax, so based on your suggestions I am on a mission to get my filofax set up to help me suceed.
I am looking forward to reading each handbag of the day blog and wish you a very happy and healthy 2013.
