Campomaggi is a handbag brand close to my heart. They are unlike anything I have ever seen before. Similar yes, but once you have seen one you will recognise them anywhere and nothing quite looks the same. They are rugged, tough, unisex and practical. The bags are crafted and assembled by hand and then washed and treated. This means that each bag is unique. My favourite colour is cognac.
They are easily available in Sweden and twice a year they go on sale. On ebay, however, they sell out as soon as they are listed. There is a German site with a very wide selection but their service sucks so I am not even going to mention them.
I have one Campomaggi bag – a tote with rolled handles and multiple pockets.
Campomaggi bags are very rugged looking. There is a more feminine branch of Campomaggi called Caterina Lucchi
Description
Tote bag with removable shoulder strap in leather (I hate canvas straps on leather bags), two rolled shorter straps, a heavy duty zipped top and several internal pockets. Nice cotton lining. The zip has a chain and lock feature which is unusual and practical. There are four front pockets.
Pros
Has a removable shoulder strap (I am not a fan of two sets of straps on a bag), zipped top, fits A4, external pockets. Very good for travelling. Gets better with age. Good for both men and women. They are not carried by every second person so if you like something a bit unusual this would be perfect.
Cons
Can be heavy.
The pictures below with the watermark came from the site where I bought my bag
These are awesome bags, not only because of the structure of the bags but also the incredible leather.
You can also purchase a wide range of Campomaggi and Caterina Lucchi from http://www.pierotucci.com
it is literally specious
