Here is the A5 Brown Charleston I will be reviewing in detail over the next week or so. Isn’t the teal tissue paper a gorgeous match with the brown of the binder!
I had a brown A5 Charleston previously but when I got it home from the shop I found the backplate of the ring mechanism was not attached to the binder. So I returned it for repair the next day. Unfortunately the binder got lost on its way back from being repaired by Filofax Sweden and the store had no more to offer me.
I am so delighted now to have a second chance to use this model. It is a nice gender-neutral style with smaller rings and shorter clasp than I am used to but I am hoping this will prevent me from doing what I usually do – overstuff – which makes the binder too heavy to carry.
My other options were the A5 Green Original and the A5 Blue Calipso as they both had 25mm rings and a shorter clasp but I think I made the right choice with this one.
Because this binder has leather which varies tremendously from binder to binder, it is going to be a tough one to buy online. I would imagine you would have to specify if you would prefer a very smooth or very dappled one.
